Covered Dental Services and Benefits
Preventive and Diagnostic Dental Services
These are the most commonly used services. From comprehensive dental exams and cleanings to sealants and panoramic x-rays, our PPO, PRIME and COPAY Plans, cover these essential Preventive and Diagnostic Services at up to 100% or may require a member copayment or coinsurance.
Basic Dental Services
SecureCare Dental plans cover your Basic Dental Services such as composite fillings and simple extractions. Root canals and gum treatments may be included here depending on your specific plan. Coverage for our plans may have a fixed member copay for each service or coinsurance percentages providing Members up to 100% coverage for all Basic Dental Services. A deductible may apply depending on your dental plan.
Major Dental Services
Our covered Major Dental Services include crowns, dental implants and bridges. Root canals and gum treatment may also be Major Services depending on your specific plan. Your payment for these services may be a fixed member copay for each service with our Copay Plans or with our PPO Plans you may need to pay a coinsurance percentage. A deductible may also apply depending on your dental plan.
For example, if a particular crown or other Major Dental Service is covered at 50%, you would only pay the remaining 50%.
Orthodontic Dental Services
SecureCare Dental plans with Orthodontic coverage are available. Orthodontic coverage includes services to straighten teeth. Some plans may include a discount for orthodontic services while other plans cover a specific benefit amount.
Refer to your Certificate of Coverage and your Schedule of Dental Benefits for all Covered Dental Services and for your specific benefits.
We always recommend that Members use a contracted dentist to avoid the possibility of balance billing for fees in excess of SecureCare’s contracted allowable fees. Please use our Dentist Search page to find contracted dentists.
